Speaking at the event, Tinubu extended condolences to Buhari’s widow, Aisha, and family, stating, “May you find comfort in knowing that the prayers of Nigeria are with you, and that the Buhari name will continue to inspire noble service for generations.”
He reflected on their shared political history, highlighting the 2014 coalition that propelled Buhari to victory in 2015.
“The coalition we built in 2014 is now the fastest-growing political party in Africa today. Its growth continues,” Tinubu declared, referring to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President emphasised continuity, saying, “A legacy is given greater meaning when those who follow choose to continue what has been started. That is my duty.”
He urged honorable politics and responsible governance, adding, “Nigeria is greater than any tribe, language, faith, or political party.”
The biography, presented as an honest account of achievements and flaws, aims to guide future leaders, Tinubu noted.
