President Bola Tinubu conferred the prestigious Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) national honours on the outstanding players and staff of Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

Each member of the Super Falcons team will receive a substantial financial reward of $100,000 from the federal government as part of the President’s commitment to encouraging excellence in Nigerian sports.
In addition to the presidential gifts, the Nigerian Governors Forum has also announced a generous token of appreciation, awarding each team member an additional 10 million Naira for their remarkable achievements on the continental and global stage.
This dual recognition underscores the unanimous pride felt across Nigeria for the Super Falcons, who have long been trailblasers in African women’s football. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has also lauded the team’s achievements, enhancing Nigeria’s prominent position in the sport regionally and internationally.
President Tinubu, during the presentation ceremony, commended the team not only for their skill and teamwork but for inspiring countless young Nigerians, especially girls, to pursue their dreams in sports.
He pledged ongoing support for the development of women’s football and expressed optimism for even greater milestones in the future.
