The event marked a significant milestone in Nigeria’s infrastructure development, promising enhanced connectivity and economic growth along the coastal corridor.

However, the ceremony was notably marked by President Tinubu’s apparent snub of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

While greeting other governors and dignities present at the event, Tinubu was seen bypassing Governor Sanwo-Olu, sparking widespread speculation and media attention.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, a flagship initiative, aims to link major economic hubs across the southern coast of Nigeria, boosting trade and transportation efficiency.

The completed 30km stretch in Lagos is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and accelerate regional development.

Officials and political analysts are closely watching the implications of the president’s gesture towards Governor Sanwo-Olu, considering the political dynamics within the ruling party and Lagos State’s strategic importance.

The commissioning ceremony drew dignitaries, government officials, and stakeholders, all optimistic about the highway’s potential to transform Nigeria’s transportation landscape.
