President Bola Tinubu delivered a powerful message of unity and cooperation during his address to a special joint session of the Senate and House of Assembly of Saint Lucia on Monday.

Emphasising the shared destiny of Africans and people of African descent worldwide, Tinubu urged for collective action to build a prosperous future.

In his speech, Tinubu stated, “As a firm believer in building bridges, I hold the view that Africans and people of African origins everywhere have a shared destiny; hence, we must come together, get organised, and work towards a glorious future.”

His visit to Saint Lucia underscores the commitment to strengthening ties between Africa and the Caribbean, aiming to deepen economic cooperation and foster mutual development.

Highlighting the historical and cultural bonds between Nigeria and Saint Lucia, the president said, “Nigeria and the island of Saint Lucia are bound by history, culture, and common aspirations. Our administration is determined to nurture and expand bilateral relations on trade, investment, tourism, education, and cultural exchange.”

He also expressed gratitude to Saint Lucia’s leadership and people for their warm hospitality, concluding with a heartfelt message in the local language, “Mèsi anpil. Thank You very much.”

Tinubu’s visit signals a renewed focus on enhancing diplomatic and economic partnerships, with a promise that “Nigeria remains committed to working hand in hand with our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean.”
