Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Tiwa Savage has officially unveiled the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation at a star-studded event in Lagos, aimed at nurturing emerging music talents across Africa.

The launch took place at The Delborough in Victoria Island, drawing prominent figures like Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, music executive Don Jazzy, and others including Mo Abudu, Johnny Drille, Cobhams Asuquo, Sen. Florence Ita-Giwa, Daisy Danjuma, and Shade Okoya.

The governor could be seen mingling with guests, with Tiwa’s son Jamil also in attendance in a video, adding a family touch to the celebration.

The initiative focuses on discovering and supporting young artists through education, mentorship, and global exposure, addressing gaps in Nigeria’s creative infrastructure.

Organisers plan to select 100 African creatives for specialised training in areas like music production, songwriting, sound engineering, film scoring, music publishing, and music therapy.

In partnership with Berklee College of Music—Tiwa’s alma mater—the foundation’s flagship offering is a fully funded four-day intensive program in Lagos from April 23 to 26, 2026.

Tiwa emphasised creating access for talents, “We don’t lack talents in Nigeria. What I want to do is to be able to create access so that people that have the talent can find the right infrastructure.”
