The intelligence revealed that some traders were mixing dangerous coloring agents with spoiled yam flour to produce contaminated “Elubo Isu,” posing serious health risks to consumers.

Wahab stated in a statement on Friday, “Our KAI enforcement team immediately conducted a raid, leading to the arrest of one Mrs. Kehinde Raji who was caught engaging in this criminal activity.”

He praised the market leadership for alerting authorities to the issue, underscoring the importance of community vigilance.

Preliminary reports have confirmed that several consumers suffered health complications from consuming the adulterated product.

Wahab added, “The suspect will be prosecuted in accordance with the relevant law of @followlasg.”

The operation underscores Lagos State’s ongoing commitment to zero tolerance on food adulteration under the #ZeroToleranceLagos initiative.
