United States President, Donald Trump has suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin may be providing limited assistance to Iran, drawing a parallel to America’s military support for Ukraine.
“Putin might be helping Iran a little bit, just as US is helping Ukraine. They do it and we do it, in all fairness,” Trump said in a Fox News interview framing the dynamic as reciprocal geopolitics amid the escalating US-Iran conflict.
The remarks come days after a March 9 phone call between the two leaders, where Trump pressed for swift resolutions to both the Iran war and the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
Russia’s economy has gained a windfall from surging global oil prices, fueled by Middle East tensions.
