United States President Donald Trump has issued an ultimatum to Iran today, offering a narrow 10-day window for nuclear talks while U.S. troops bolster positions across the Middle East, escalating tensions in a region already reeling from last year’s precision strikes.
Speaking at the Board of Peace event, Trump urged Tehran to the negotiating table but left no illusions about the consequences of defiance.
“Now is the time for Iran to join us on a path that will complete what we’re doing.
“If they join us, that’ll be great. If they don’t join us, that’ll be great too — but it’ll be a very different path. They cannot continue to threaten the stability of the entire region. They have to make a deal,” he said.
The remarks come eight months after U.S. airstrikes crippled key Iranian nuclear sites at Fordow and Natanz.
According to the latest IAEA reports, those operations slashed Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile from 4,000kg to under 1,000kg, enforcing long-standing American red lines without sparking all-out war.
