United States President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will target Cuba for regime change immediately after concluding military operations in Iran, framing it as a deliberate, sequential strategy to avoid historical pitfalls of overextension.
Speaking at the White House, Trump stated the post-Iran focus plainly, “in your next one is going to be, we want to do that special. He’s waiting, but he says, let’s get this one finished first.”
Trump elaborated on his reasoning, drawing from past lessons, “We could do them all at the same time, but bad things happen. If you watch countries over the years, you do them all too fast. Bad things happen. We’re not gonna let anything bad happen to this country.”
This comes amid an escalating U.S. oil blockade on Cuba, imposed in early 2026, which has deepened the island nation’s economic crisis by restricting fuel imports and exacerbating shortages.
Trump described potential action against Cuba as “a question of time,” underscoring a methodical approach to foreign intervention
