The deal, hailed as unprecedented by international leaders, aims to end decades of hostilities and pave the way for cooperation and stability in the region.
Details of the agreement include ceasefire terms, economic cooperation, and pathways to future diplomatic dialogue.
The agreement, facilitated by the United States along with mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, represents the most significant diplomatic breakthrough after two years of intense hostilities that have resulted in over 67,000 fatalities.
The initial phase of the agreement includes a ceasefire, the swift release of all living Israeli hostages held by Hamas, and the liberation of some 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, including 250 serving life sentences.
Additionally, Israel has withdrawn its military forces to pre-designated lines within the Gaza Strip.
Trump articulated that this deal lays the foundation for “a strong, durable, and everlasting peace” in the region.
He emphasised the equitable treatment of all parties involved and expressed gratitude to the mediators who played an essential role in brokering the deal.
Celebrations have erupted both in Gaza and Israel, and families of hostages have expressed immense relief.
