The demolition occurred in Lekki after authorities discovered that the structure was constructed directly beneath 33kV high-tension power lines, violating safety regulations.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, stated that the action was taken following a 24-hour notice given to the owner.
He noted that the demolition was necessary to mitigate the risks of electrocution and fire, as part of the state’s broader efforts to revamp urban areas around the Ikeja GRA corridor.
This measure is part of the government’s ongoing initiatives to enhance safety, promote urban renewal, and ensure environmental compliance throughout Lagos State.
Reacting, Ola of Lagos wrote on Instagram story, “Every man you see out there is going through one or two trust me…no matter how wealthy, famous or whatever…but what do we do?? Keep going.
“That’s the vibe…stay strong my fellow car dealers… challenges are part of the process, Allah.”
He further, “Omo these calls/messages much—thank yall, tho I’m good. I promise I’m smiling atm self, haha. Been chesting losses for long. Losses that will comfortably get me a 4 Bedrooms apartment in Ikoyi.
“Man will just reason all, smile, thank God, come online to drop motivation, show love then keep going…. All is well ooo haha.”
