“If Kano is the California of Nigerian politics, Katsina is the New York of Nigerian politics,” Shettima remarked, emphasising Katsina’s central role in the nation’s political landscape.
Shettima highlighted the close political ties between Tinubu and Katsina, noting the influence of many prominent political figures from the state.
He revealed that most of Tinubu’s political allies were from Katsina, mentioning the late President Muhammadu Buhari, late President Umar Yar’adua, and other political bigwigs from the state.
This connection, according to Shettima, has been instrumental in bolstering Tinubu’s political journey.
Further underscoring Katsina’s significance, Shettima acknowledged the unwavering support from Katsina’s governor during the challenging 2023 campaign season.
“The Katsina governor stood firm behind Tinubu during the 2023 campaign struggles,” he confirmed, emphasising the state’s loyalty and commitment to Tinubu’s presidency.
