Video: Woman remanded for assaulting officers over pedestrian bridge violation in Lagos

Chidinma Obishe was remanded in prison until Tuesday, July 8, 2025, after violently resisting arrest for failing to use the pedestrian bridge at Ojota, Lagos.

According to Tokunbo Wahab, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Chidinma attacked taskforce personnel when apprehended for crossing the highway unlawfully.

The Magistrate Court at Bolade issued the remand order, and her case is set for hearing on the specified date.

“Chidinma Obishe resisted arrest when she was apprehended for not using the pedestrian bridge at Ojota. She violently attacked some of our personnel.

“The Magistrate Court sitting at Bolade has remanded her in prison till 8 July, 2025 when her case will be heard,” Wahab had written.

This incident highlights the state’s strict enforcement of pedestrian safety laws under the #ZeroToleranceLagos campaign.
