A heated February 2025 Oval Office exchange between then-newly inaugurated U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has exploded online, resurfacing just as Trump scrambles for allied naval support in his escalating conflict with Iran.
The clip, from a tense bilateral meeting on February 28, 2025, captures Zelenskyy warning Trump about the long reach of wartime vulnerabilities.
“First of all, during the war, everybody has problems, even you. But you have nice ocean and don’t feel now. But you will feel it in the future,” Zelenskyy said.
Trump fired back sharply, “You don’t know that. You don’t know that. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel. We’re trying to solve a problem. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel.”
He added, “You are in no position to dictate what we’re going to feel. We’re going to feel very good.”
Vice President J.D. Vance chimed in, accusing Zelenskyy, “That’s exactly what you’re doing.”
The confrontation arose amid debates over U.S. aid to Ukraine, with Trump and Vance slamming Zelenskyy’s strategy as flawed.
Now circulating widely on March 14, 2026—two weeks into Trump’s “Operation Epic Fury” airstrikes on Iran—the video draws stark irony.
U.S. naval assets are stretched thin protecting the Strait of Hormuz from disruptions, prompting Trump to request warships from allies including France, the UK, and South Korea.
