The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that its results checker portal, waecdirect.org, is temporarily offline due to technical issues that have prevented candidates from accessing their results.
The disruption occurred less than a day after WAEC officially released the 2025 WASSCE results, leading to a surge in online traffic as thousands of candidates rushed to access their scores.
In a terse statement via WAEC’s X handle, the exam body assured candidates and the public that its technical team is working “assiduously” to resolve the problem.
The Council anticipates that the portal will be fully functional and available to candidates within the next 24 hours.
The statement reads: “WAEC hereby informs the general public that the result checker portal #waecdirect.org is temporarily shutdown due to technical issues.
“However, the Council is working assiduously to ensure that candidates are able to access their results in the next 24 hours. Please bear with us.”
