‘We married by voice of God,” Pastor Nathaniel Bassey reveals divine voice led him to wife

Popular gospel singer and minister Pastor Nathaniel Bassey has shared a powerful testimony of how divine direction led him to his wife, highlighting their marriage as a clear example of hearing God’s voice.

In a recent message, Pastor Bassey recounted how his wife, during a month-long fast themed “Two Is Better Than One,” felt a strong conviction that he was her destined husband but sought a clear confirmation.

“She told God, ‘This is my life. Give me something very substantive,’” he recalled.

On the final day of the fast, she attended a church service and prayed specifically that God would speak his name twice for confirmation.

During the scripture reading from Isaiah 64, the officiating pastor mistakenly said, “And Jesus saw Nathaniel standing under the fig tree.”

After apologising and repeating the passage, the pastor made the same slip again.

“That was the confirmation she needed,” Pastor Bassey explained.

“That’s how we married—by the voice of God.”

He encouraged believers to trust in divine guidance, citing Psalm 119:105: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
