Real Madrid star, Vinicius Jr., has opened up about his frosty relationship with former Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso, explaining why he skipped a social media farewell when Alonso departed the club earlier this year.

In quotes shared by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Vinicius addressed the absence of a goodbye post, “Every coach has their own things and maybe we did not connect well.”

Alonso’s tenure as Real Madrid boss began promisingly in June 2025 but unraveled quickly, ending by mutual agreement in January 2026 amid player tensions and squad disruptions.

Vinicius, who saw limited minutes under the ex-Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder, called it “a difficult moment because I was playing for few minutes.”

Despite the challenges, the Brazilian winger framed the period positively, “I learned a lot, I reflected and I am improved now.”

He credits the experience with personal growth, positioning himself as a stronger player heading into the season’s stretch run.

The revelations highlight ongoing dynamics at the Bernabéu, where Alonso’s short stint left lingering questions about squad harmony
