Alejandro Garnacho opened up about his decision to join Chelsea, emphasising the importance of the club’s playing style and the influence of coach Maresca.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, he said, “When I spoke with the club and Maresca, it’s important also the style of play we have. He explained a lot to me in a video call with him.”
Garnacho also expressed his excitement about the move, calling it “a big chance to improve as a player in a team like Chelsea.”
Chelsea signed Garnacho for a reported £40 million fee ($54 million) on a seven-year deal with the world champions.
The 21-year-old scored his first goal for the club in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to newly promoted Sunderland on Saturday.
