Why I’m interested in Edo election — Davido

Renowned singer, David Adeleke, alias Davido, has given reason for his interest in the ongoing Edo State gubernatorial election.
Davido in an X (formally Twitter) post explained that one of the reasons that drove his interest in the state election was because his late mother, Imade Veronica Adeleke, was from Edo State.
He noted that apart from the aforementioned reason, as a Nigerian, he should be concerned about any election going on in the country.
The singer also called out the Independent National Electoral Commission, over alleged malpractices in the ongoing guber poll.
He wrote, “My mom is from Edo for those wondering why I’m interested in the election, but we as Nigerians should be concerned, INEC shame on you I know how many times I had to come in here and rant before they got it right in Osun! It’s really bad. God help us.”
Meanwhile, Davido had earlier endorsed the People Democratic Party candidate, Asuen Ighodalo for the Edo gubernatorial election through his social media account.
The Edo State Governorship election is scheduled for Saturday, September 21.
