Nigeria singer, Ibrahim Balogun well known as Wizkid has revealed why he rejected Puma’s partnership deal.
Wizkid while replying to a social media critic stated that the brand’s budget was insufficient for his expectations.
In a recent social media exchange, he claimed that Puma initially approached him but opted for Davido after he turned down their offer.
Wizkid emphasised that the financial terms offered were more suitable for Davido, igniting discussions about rivalry in the Nigerian music industry.
He wrote on X (formally Twitter), “U idiot! I turned down Puma because they could no longer afford to pay me. After all, I wanted more!”
Wizkid affirmed his prominence over other artists like Rema and Burna Boy, leading to mixed reactions from fans regarding his statements and the ongoing feud with Davido.
“Don’t need that! Way bigger than every artiste you just mentioned! Not jealous! love them all. With your dirty ass shirt! Idiot!
“No! Puma is a big brand! But the budget they had for Africa wasn’t for me! Was cool for your client tho!” he wrote.
Dailyeconomy had on Wednesday reported that Wizkid has escalated his ongoing vendetta with his colleague, Davido by making a mockery remark about Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke who is the governor of Osun State.
