Yola market fire victims receive aid from NEMA‬

In response to the devastating fire outbreak that recently occurred at Yola South Local Government in Adamawa, the National Emergency Management Agency has distributed relief materials to the victims of the market fire disaster.

This was revealed in a statement on the official NEMA X (formally Twitter) account on Wednesday.

The distribution which was approved by the Director General of NEMA, Zubairu Umar, included food and building materials to support the affected traders.

The statement read in part, “Mr Ladan Ayuba, Head of NEMA Yola Operations Office, represented the DG during the distribution exercise. He expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and understanding exhibited by market leaders and highlighted the importance of ensuring that all affected traders receive the necessary aid.

“The relief distribution was officially flagged off by the Honourable Commissioner for Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (RRR), Bar. Hamman Bello Daram, on behalf of the Adamawa State Government. In his remarks, he praised the DG of NEMA for the  approval of the relief materials and encouraged all beneficiaries to make good use of the support provided.

“In her remark. The Perm Sec, (Adsema) Mrs. Celine L Kwamoti. Represented by the Director of Relief Mr. Maxwell Johnson expressed gratitude for the federal government’s support and acknowledged the contributions of NEMA involved in the response efforts.”
