AC Milan have reached a verbal agreement to appoint Rúben Amorim as their new head coach, with the Portuguese manager set to sign a contract running until June 2028 and an option to extend through June 2029.
Amorim has accepted the terms and is expected to complete formalities and sign this week, Dailyeconomy reports.
Meanwhile, Dailyeconomy on Sunday reported that the move could reduce Manchester United’s compensation bill.
United may cut the payout owed to Amorim and members of his backroom staff if he accepts the AC Milan role.
United currently faces a potential compensation liability of up to £15.9 million after dismissing Amorim in January 2026, a figure tied to termination payments from when he was hired in late 2024.
If Amorim is formally appointed by Milan, the amount United must pay would be substantially reduced.
