Advising Olise to join Real Madrid would be disrespectful to Bayern — Mbappé

Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappé has addressed summer transfer speculation linking his France teammate Michael Olise with a move to the Bernabéu, insisting it would have been wrong for him to encourage the Bayern Munich winger to leave.

Speaking to German newspaper BILD, Mbappé said, “Olise and Real Madrid? I saw the links but I think it would be disrespectful to advise a player to leave. That would be unfair to Bayern.”

He added, “Especially since Bayern are a great club where Michael can achieve a lot. Of course, every club in the world would love to have Michael Olise. He’s an outstanding player.”

The comments come after intense rumours during the 2026 summer transfer window.

Real Madrid were heavily linked with the French international as part of their attacking rebuild, with president Florentino Pérez previously floating the idea of a major outlay for a high-profile addition.

Madrid ultimately signed winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig in a club-record deal instead.

Olise, who moved to Bayern from Crystal Palace in 2024, has established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting attackers.

He was named the Bundesliga’s Player of the Season for 2025-26 after a standout campaign that helped Bayern retain their title, and he formed a productive partnership with Mbappé for France at the 2026 World Cup.

His contract with the German champions runs until 2029, and Bayern have repeatedly made clear they have no intention of selling the player.

Mbappé drew on his own experiences of transfer speculation during his time at Paris Saint-Germain, noting the constant rumors that surrounded him before his move to Madrid in 2024.

His measured response contrasts with some earlier reports suggesting he had privately encouraged Olise toward a potential switch.

The pair continue to link up for France, where Olise’s vision and creativity have drawn consistent praise from the Real Madrid star.
