AXA Mansard has launched a caregivers’ campaign, tagged “Culture of Care”, to highlight the importance of care in families, businesses and communities, with innovative products spanning insurance, healthcare and investments.

Chief executive officers of AXA Mansard’s subsidiaries spoke during the official launch of its Pan-African care campaign in Lagos, a movement to celebrate care as a beautiful form of protection, as well as protect the protector.

The Chief Executive Officer of AXA Mansard Insurance, Mr. Kunle Ahmed, said the initiative was designed to reconnect insurance with values Nigerians already understood and practised daily, including caring for family members, friends and communities.

According to him, protection does not only begin with an insurance policy but also with people who care for others, stressing that those who protect others also deserve protection.

“Insurance is not merely a contract. It is a promise that when life becomes uncertain, AXA will stand by you,” he said.

Ahmed noted that insurance penetration in Nigeria remained below one per cent of Gross Domestic Product, excluding pension contributions.

He said the challenge was not simply a lack of awareness but the need to help Nigerians see insurance as a practical expression of care rather than an expense.

According to him, increased insurance adoption would strengthen societal resilience, improve business confidence, support investment and contribute to national economic development.

Ahmed said the campaign was being launched at an important period for the insurance industry, following the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act 2025 and the recently concluded recapitalisation exercise.

Also speaking the Chief Executive Officer of AXA Mansard Health, Mr. Tope Adeniyi, called for greater support and protection for caregivers, noting that caregiving often involved significant emotional and financial responsibilities.

Adeniyi said preventive measures, including health insurance, could help families manage unexpected medical expenses and reduce the impact of health risks.

He illustrated the challenge with the story of a single mother who was forced to choose between buying medication for her sick child and feeding her other three children with a little money.

Adeniyi said AXA Mansard Health remained committed to providing end-to-end healthcare solutions and had launched AXA One Health to strengthen its healthcare services.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Mansard Investments Limited, Deji O. Tunde Anjous, said financial well-being was also an important part of protection.

He noted that savings and investments could help families secure their future, support businesses, and create jobs and prosperity.

Anjous said AXA Mansard Investments would continue to promote financial education, innovation, customer-centric support, and the digitisation and democratisation of investment services.

He said the campaign sought to recognise and support everyday acts of care while encouraging Nigerians to secure the future they were working to build.
