Bruno Fernandes wins 2026 PFA Players’ Player of the Year

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the 2026 PFA Players’ Player of the Year after a vote by fellow professionals, completing a remarkable treble of major individual awards for the Portuguese midfielder.

Fernandes, 31, enjoyed a superb 2025/26 Premier League campaign, scoring nine goals and registering a record-breaking 21 assists as Manchester United finished third to seal a return to the Champions League.

The midfielder’s latest accolade follows his Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season awards, underlining his influence during United’s resurgence.

Fernandes is the first Manchester United player to win the PFA’s top individual prize since Wayne Rooney in 2010.

The club’s celebration of the captain, pictured in a tuxedo holding the trophy, was accompanied by the simple verdict from supporters: “Inevitable.”
