Contributory Pension assets rose to N20.227tn in May- PenCom

The total assets under the Contributory Pension Scheme rose to N20.227tn as of the end of May, 2024.
Figures obtained by Daily Economy from the National Pension Commission from its report titled, ‘Unaudited report on pension funds industry portfolio for the period ended 31 May 2024; Approved Existing Schemes, Closed Pension Fund Administrators and RSA Funds (Including unremitted contributions @CBN & Legacy Funds)’, revealed on Wednesday.
According to the figures, the assets rose by N440bn from N19.787tn as of the end of April 2024.
The bulk of the assets totalling N12.786tn was invested in the FGN securities.
Other portfolio where the pension operators invested the assets are in money market instruments, and mutual funds.
