The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has refuted a viral social media post claiming to detail the number of candidates shortlisted by state for the final stage of the 2025 recruitment for the Superintendent Cadre.
In a statement posted on X, the NCS emphasised, “The publication did not originate from the Nigeria Customs Service or any of its authorised communication channels.”
The Service clarified that the recruitment began with an official advertisement on December 27, 2024, receiving 573,523 applications across various cadres.
After documentary screening, 286,697 candidates were shortlisted for the first phase of the Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Only those successful in the Superintendent Cadre proceeded to the second phase, held in designated centers aligned with candidates’ states of origin to promote transparency and federal character.
All official recruitment updates, the NCS stated, are communicated exclusively through the NCS Recruitment Update Portal at updates.customs.gov.ng.
The statement urged, “Applicants and the general public are hereby urged to rely solely on verified NCS communication channels for authentic information and to refrain from sharing or acting on unverified reports capable of causing misinformation or exploitation.”
The NCS reaffirmed its commitment to “a free, fair, and credible selection process, consistent with global best practices.”
