Davido features TikTok-Discovered NO11 on ‘Gimme Dat Ting,’ praises Nigeria’s underground scene

Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke alias Davido has spotlighted rising artist NO11 on his latest single “Gimme Dat Ting,” saying he discovered the Houston-born, Abuja-raised talent through a viral TikTok clip of the song “How Far.”
In a recent interview with The FADER, Davido explained that early this year he came across a TikTok video featuring NO11’s track “How Far,” which he believes was one of the first posts the artist ever shared.
After reposting it, NO11’s profile began to rise rapidly.
“First of all, shout out to NO11! Right now Nigeria has a crazy, big underground scene. Early in the year, I was on TikTok and I had seen this video of 11. I think that was one of the first videos he posted of his song ‘How Far.’ I reposted it and then he just blew up,” Davido told The FADER.
He added that what stood out to him was the originality of NO11’s sound and the way the artist has been uplifting peers around him.
“I liked how it was so original. He was carrying everybody in the Nigerian music scene along. And with me, I make music with anybody. It’s not about how big you are,” Davido said.
Released in July 2026 as the second single from Davido’s sixth studio album Oriadé, “Gimme Dat Ting” blends Afrobeats and Amapiano into an upbeat, celebration-of-success anthem.
NO11, born Nnamdi Odom in Houston and raised mainly in Abuja, has been building a name in Nigeria’s capital city underground circuit since 2022, mixing hip-hop, Afrobeats, and trap influences.
His feature on Oriadé places him alongside a roster of international and African acts including Leon Thomas, Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, Fola, Llona, JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay.
Davido framed the collaboration as part of a broader belief in creativity over clout.
“It’s not about how big you are,” he said of his approach to features, emphasising that he chooses partners based on the strength and originality of their music rather than their current fame.
