Davido reveals inspiration behind title of his forthcoming album 5ive

Afrobeat star, David Adeleke alias Davido has shared the inspiration behind the title of his highly anticipated fifth studio album, ‘5ive’.

Davido in  a recent appearance on a Twitch stream hosted by Cruel Santino noted that the title reflects the fact that this is his fifth album.

The album, to be released on April 18th, comes after the successful release of his “Time Trilogy”, consisting of ‘A Good Time’, ‘A Better Time’, and ‘Timeless’.

Davido stated that it was time to move on to a new chapter in his music career

The album’s title, ‘5ive’, may seem straightforward but Davido stated that researching the number 5 could provide a deeper connotation.

However, in anticipation of the album’s release, Davido has dropped a new single titled ‘Be There Still’ on March 14.
