The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a woman for allegedly defrauding a victim of N18 million.
A statement obtained from the commission on Thursday said the Benin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, “arraigned one Salt Adaeze Udoka before Justice F. Olubanjo of the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State.”
According to the statement, Udoka faces a one-count charge of “fraudulently taken possession (stealing) of the sum of N18 million from an unsuspecting victim (Mrs Angela Anyekpe),” an offence the EFCC said is contrary to section 18(2)(b) of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022 and punishable under the same Act.
The commission did not immediately disclose further details of the alleged transaction or whether Udoka had pleaded to the charge.
The case was listed before the court for further proceedings.
