EFCC nabs 24 suspected fraudsters, recovers vehicles in Benin City

The operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have nabbed 24 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations within Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
This was disclosed in post shared on the EFCC verified Facebook page on Wednesday.
The suspects were according to the post apprehended based on the investigation regarding their suspected involvement in internet-related fraud.
The post reads, “Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday August 28, 2024 arrested 24 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations within Benin City.
“The suspects were arrested based on actionable intelligence regarding their suspected involvement in internet-related fraud.
“Items recovered from them include 11 exotic cars, laptops and phones.”
The EFCC affirmed that they would be charged in court as soon as investigations are concluded.
However, Dailyeconomy on Friday, August 23, reported that The operatives of the EFCC apprehended a suspected Internet fraudster and money launderer at Ever Green Estate in Abuja.
