Emir of Ilorin launches multipurpose pavilion project

Construction of the groundbreaking Ilorin Emirate Multipurpose Pavilion officially kicked off on Tuesday, with the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, blessing the initiative during a formal handover ceremony.

In a statement obtained Tuesday from Ibraheem Abdullateef, Senior Special Assistant on Communications and Media Officer to the Pavilion Steering Committee, the project was described as a milestone effort.

“In the name of Allah and with the blessings of His Royal Highness Emir of Ilorin Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, the construction of Ilorin Emirate Multipurpose Pavilion has COMMENCED today,” the statement announced.

The steering committee, chaired by Abdullateef Alakawa, handed over the site to the contractor, marking the start of what promises to be a transformative development for the region.

The Emir extended his blessings to the project and urged widespread public backing.

As quoted in the statement, “The emir blessed the project and enjoined the public to lend their support for it.”

Officials hail the pavilion as “a one-of-a-kind project to promote the heritage, foster tourism, and sociocultural development of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State,” positioning it as a beacon for cultural preservation and economic growth.

The initiative is expected to draw visitors, boost local tourism, and strengthen community ties in Kwara State.
