Face your music says Faleke as he clashes with Davido over Osun poll

Nigerian singer and hitmaker, David Adeleke, known as Davido, has locked horns with House of Representatives member James Faleke following the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election that saw incumbent Ademola Adeleke re-elected.

The public spat erupted after Davido alleged that Faleke was pressuring the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to alter results in favour of the APC candidate, a claim Faleke has firmly denied.

In an X post, Davido fired back at the lawmaker with a blunt message about the role of politicians in the electoral process.

“POLITICS is NOT A CAREER. Get a JOB!!!” Davido had written.

The post was a direct response to Faleke’s earlier statement, in which the Finance Committee chairman rejected accusations of attempting to influence the collation of election results.

Faleke, who had previously told the singer to “face your music” amid the rigging allegations, issued a detailed rebuttal, framing the clash as a difference in political allegiance rather than any attempt to subvert the electoral body.

He noted that while he was in Osun to support his party’s candidate, Davido had been actively backing his uncle’s Accord Party bid.

“I came to Osun to support my party’s candidate, while you supported your uncle’s party (Accord). INEC is a body that can’t be influenced by me or anyone else,” Faleke stated.

He further insisted that he had no history or intention of manipulating election outcomes.

“I have never influenced or rigged before and I don’t plan to start now. Face your music while we face our politics,” he wrote.
