Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has held talks with the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of KasiCloud, Johnson Agogbua, on the role of cloud technology and digital infrastructure in accelerating productivity, investment and sustainable economic growth.

The meeting, held during a courtesy visit by Agogbua and his team, focused on expanding Nigeria’s digital economy through innovation and stronger public-private partnerships in technology infrastructure.

In a statement obtained from the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, the ministry said the engagement highlighted the importance of cloud-based systems in the country’s economic reform agenda.

“The engagement focused on the role of cloud technology, digital infrastructure and innovation in driving productivity, investment and sustainable economic growth,” the statement said.

KasiCloud is developing a 100-megawatt AI-ready hyperscale data centre campus in Lekki, Lagos, a project expected to strengthen local digital capacity and reduce Nigeria’s reliance on foreign-hosted infrastructure.

The proposed facility is also expected to support advanced computing requirements, including artificial intelligence workloads, while attracting technology investments into the country.

“The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy… received Johnson Agogbua, Founder and CEO of KasiCloud, and his team on a courtesy call,” the ministry added.

The visit comes as Nigeria continues to pursue reforms aimed at deepening the digital economy, with emphasis on innovation-led growth and private-sector participation in critical technology infrastructure.
