Iran will honour deals only If U.S. does — Iranian President

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Tehran will fulfil its commitments under any agreement only if the United States reciprocates.
Pezeshkian in a statement shared on Tuesday framed Iran’s posture as grounded in reason and dignity while reserving the right to decisive defence.
“Mutual understanding is a two-way street. If the American side adheres to the agreement, we will also fulfill our commitments,” Pezeshkian wrote, stressing conditional reciprocity as the core of Iran’s negotiating stance.
He added that Tehran’s response to what he called “unreasonable saber-rattling and baseless threats” is guided by restraint and principle, “Our approach to unreasonable saber-rattling and baseless threats is to rely on rationality and human dignity in decision-making, and to defend decisively and fearlessly when it comes time to act.”
