Kaduna allocates land for ABU staff housing, reiterates loyalty to education

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has presented land allocation papers to the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and his management team for staff housing projects in Sabon Gari and Chikun Local Government Areas.
The governor in a statement shared on his X handle, said the initiative outlines his administration’s commitment to enhancing staff welfare, boosting morale, and supporting ABU in fulfilling its national responsibilities.
He wrote, “I reiterated that education remains the cornerstone of our transformation agenda. We have backed this commitment with action by increasing education’s share of the state budget to 26.14% in 2025, constructing 62 new schools, building and renovating over 1,700 classrooms, reducing tuition fees for state-owned tertiary institutions by 50%, and commissioning three of the largest and well-equipped vocational and skills development institutes in Nigeria.”
During the visit to Kashim Ibrahim House, the ABU management team praised the Kaduna State Government’s progress in education, agriculture, transportation, and inclusive governance, describing its leadership style as a model for Nigeria’s future.
They further pledged the University’s readiness to partner with the government in delivering the dividends of democracy, while praising the administration’s ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity and make Kaduna more conducive for all.
Sani thereby reaffirmed Kaduna State’s readiness to work with ABU in expanding technical skills training and emphasized continued support for the University as a centre of excellence and a national treasure.
