Keyamo to commission Enugu Air as maiden domestic flights take off July 7

Enugu Air, the new Enugu State government-owned commercial airline, is set to commence its maiden domestic flight operations on Monday, July 7, 2025.

The official inauguration will be conducted by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who will be warmly received by the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Gbenga Saka, Special Adviser to the Minister on Digital Media, confirmed the development on Sunday.

Saka wrote on X, “The Hon. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development @fmaviationng, Olorogun @fkeyamo, is set to inaugurate Enugu Air @enuguairline as the airline commences its maiden domestic flight operations tomorrow.

“He will be received by the Chief Host, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Mbah. @PNMbah”.

If was gathered that Enugu Air will launch with a fleet of three Embraer jets from the E170 and E190 series, selected for their efficiency, passenger comfort, and suitability for regional routes.

The airline’s inaugural routes will form a “golden triangle” with Enugu at the center, connecting Abuja and Lagos, with plans to expand to other key Nigerian cities including Port Harcourt, Owerri, Benin, and Kano.
