Kidnapped medical students: Police confirms arrival of detectives in Benue

‪The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has stated that more trained detectives have arrived in Benue for the rescue of the abducted Benue medical students.

Adejobi in a post, conveyed that the inspector general of police, Kayode Egbetokun, reiterated his commitment to rescuing the kidnapped medical students in Benue unhurt urging that those who discuss vital information about the incident on social media to desist, as such may disrupt the ongoing operations.

Adejobi wrote on X (formally Twitter), “IGP reiterates commitment to rescuing the kidnapped medical students in Benue unhurt.

“He calls for understanding and support as more trained detectives arrive in Benue. We commend those who share information with us confidentially, while we advise those who discuss vital information about the incident on social media to desist, as such may disrupt the ongoing operations. Kindly share information with us in confidence.”

Dailyeconomy on Saturday, August 17, reported that the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has condemned the kidnapping of 20 medical students who were abducted in Otukpo, Benue State while travelling for the annual convention of the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students in Enugu.
