Operatives from the Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Department of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources began clearing structures obstructing stormwater flow along the Ikota River alignment in Lekki, Eti-osa, on Friday.
The Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, shared a video with captions stating, “Operatives commenced the removal of contravening structures blocking the free flow of stormwater along Ikota River alignment to prevent perennial flooding in the area.”
He emphasised the commitment to ending flooding, concluding with the hashtag, #ZeroToleranceLagos.
