Lagos removes illegal structures in Alimosho, Ajegunle

The operatives of the Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Department under the Ministry of Environment have removed illegal structures at the Olakunle Ojo collector drain in Amje, Ajegunle, Alimosho axis of Lagos State.

The operation as mentioned in a statement on Wednesday by the Lagos Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, is part of ongoing efforts to provide a lasting solution to persistent flooding in the area.

Wahab stressed that the demolished structures were obstructing the free flow of water, contributing to recurrent flooding during heavy rainfall.

He wrote, “Operatives of the Drainage Enforcement and Compliance (DEC) Department from the Ministry continued with it’s enforcement activities with the removal of contravening structures along Olakunle Ojo Collector Drain, Amje, Ajegunle, Alimosho on Tues. 25/03/2025 in order to proffer lasting solution to flooding in the area.”
