Iranian professor Mohammad Marandi has issued a warning to Washington, stressing that American pressure tactics that have worked against other nations will not succeed against Iran.
In an interview with Times Radio, Marandi, a University of Tehran academic and frequent commentator on Iran–West relations rejected what he described as US propaganda and underscored Iranian resolve amid escalating 2026 tensions involving the United States, Israel, and flashpoints such as the Strait of Hormuz.
“You’ve messed with the wrong country,” Marandi said, adding, “Your propaganda doesn’t work anymore.”
He contrasted US actions elsewhere with Tehran’s stance, stating, “What you have done to the Palestinian people, to the Iraqi people, to the Cuban people, to the Venezuelan people — you cannot do to the Iranian people.”
