Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced a significant breakthrough in the city’s water infrastructure development.

On Saturday, Wahab shared via X that “the last DCI pipe (pipe no. 944) has been successfully installed,” marking a crucial stage in the Adiyan II Water Project.

The newly completed 8-kilometer transmission pipeline now reaches Akute, bringing Lagos closer to increasing its water supply capacity by an additional 70 million gallons of potable water per day.

Wahab underscored the impact of this development, stating, “Step by step, we are rebuilding and expanding Lagos’ water supply network to meet the needs of our growing population.”

This achievement represents a key step toward delivering cleaner and more reliable water to Lagos residents, fulfilling the government’s commitment to #CleanerLagos and #GreaterLagos.
