Manchester City is weighing legal action against Real Madrid presidential hopeful Enrique Riquelme after the candidate claimed he would sign Erling Haaland for Real Madrid if voters make him president.

The Premier League club has denied the claim and says it is exploring a legal response after Riquelme publicly used Haaland’s image while making the promise.

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, “Manchester City consider legal action after Enrique Riquelme claims of Erling Haaland joining Real Madrid if he wins the elections.

“The club has denied the information and is exploring legal action for using their player’s image on purpose.”

Manchester City has issued a public denial of the candidate’s statement and accused Riquelme of deliberately using Haaland’s likeness without authorisation.
