Marcus Rashford’s proposed exit from Manchester United has been virtually ruled out, according to BBC reporter Simon Stone, after the England forward was officially handed the club’s iconic No. 9 shirt for the 2026/27 season.

United confirmed Rashford as their new No. 9 on August 22 following his return from a loan spell at Barcelona, with the number becoming available after Rasmus Hojlund’s departure.

The shirt had initially appeared on Rashford during a pre-season match against AC Milan, but the allocation was subsequently made official in the club’s published squad numbers.
