Manchester United are on the verge of securing Michael Carrick’s long-term future at Old Trafford, with contract talks advancing to the final stages, our correspondent gathered.
Reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the positive developments, reporting a club-wide consensus among players, management, and staff that Carrick should remain in the coaching setup next season and beyond.
This decision builds on positive momentum noted over recent weeks, emphasising the importance of coaching stability amid United’s ongoing rebuild.
“Manchester United and Michael Carrick are set to continue together next season and beyond,” Romano confirmed on Wednesday.
He added, “Chances increasing for weeks as reported and everyone at #MUFC feels he should stay. Players, management, everyone on same page. Next step: talks to final stages and new deal.”
Carrick, a former United midfielder and interim manager in 2021, has been a key figure for United to secure the Champions League.
