Mbappé hails Tchouaméni as “big figure”, Real Madrid’s most consistent player this season

Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappé has praised teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni as a “big figure,” a leader for France and one of Real Madrid’s most consistent performers this season.

Mbappe in an interview, highlighted the midfielder’s resilience after a difficult spell.

“Tchouaméni is a big figure. He’s a team leader, the vice-captain (in France NT),” Mbappé said, adding that the 25-year-old has “been one of our club’s most consistent players this season.”

Mbappé recalled how Tchouaméni endured heavy criticism and was shifted to centre-back when Mbappé first arrived at the club, but insisted the player’s character helped him turn things around.

“When I arrived at Real Madrid, he was going through a rough patch. He was being criticised. After that, he was often used as a CB. But I liked the character he showed in turning the situation around. He came out of that experience stronger. Now he’s arriving confident in himself and his abilities.”
