Former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has called on the Nigerian national team to fully commit to their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches, emphasising that on-field results must take precedence over all other issues.
“The window for grievances never closes. Take responsibility for the matches first. All that goes out of the window. The most important thing is these two games. We have to win them. Have to win them,” Obi said.
Reflecting on Nigeria’s successful 2018 World Cup qualification, he highlighted the significance of determination and focus, saying, “I’m sure these guys are taking responsibility, and I’m sure they will go out there and make Nigeria proud.”
As the Super Eagles face these critical games, the pressure is on to avoid missing consecutive World Cups for the first time in their history.
