Company Income Tax (CIT) collections in Nigeria amounted to ₦1.37 trillion in Q1 2026, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported, marking an 8.08% decline from ₦1.49 trillion recorded in Q4 2025.
The NBS breakdown shows domestic CIT contributed ₦538.91 billion, while foreign CIT payments made up the larger share at ₦828.82 billion.
The bureau said the Q1 2026 release includes four accompanying charts and directed readers to the full CIT report for further details on Nigeria’s tax revenue trends.
“Company Income Tax (CIT) in Q1 2026 stood at ₦1.37 trillion, indicating a decrease of 8.08% on a quarter-on-quarter basis from ₦1.49 trillion in Q4 2025.
“Of the total CIT collected, domestic CIT contributed ₦538.91 billion, while Foreign CIT Payment accounted for ₦828.82 billion during the quarter,” NBS wrote.
