Nigerians don’t hate police, only need our best — Police spokesperson

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that Nigerians do not hate the security personnel, but are are just desiring for their top-quality service.

Hundeyin revealed this in a post shared on his X handle (formally Twitter) on Monday.

Hundeyin stated in the post that he has been contacted through various means, including phone calls, text messages, and WhatsApp, to express gratitude for the police’s successful prevention of a kidnap attempt.

On Friday, he had confirmed that the Lagos State Police Command had successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt on high-net-worth individuals in Ladipo area of Lagos State.

The post shared read, “Nigerians do not hate their institutions. They just want the best from them. This I know now more than ever before going by the number of appreciation calls, sms and WhatsApp messages I am still receiving since Friday for the wonderful feat of our men in foiling a kidnap attempt in Ladipo area of Lagos State.

“This is very motivating, highly appreciated and not taken for granted. We Lagos State Police promise to continue to do our best for the safety and security of all residents and visitors to Lagos State.”
