The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has reiterated that Nigeria’s economic transformation hinges on responsible and visionary leadership dedicated to sustaining reforms and driving inclusive growth, revealed a statement obtained from the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.

Speaking at the Oxford Global Think Tank Leadership Conference in Abuja on Tuesday, themed “Better Leadership for a Better Nigeria,” Edun praised Arumah Oteh for creating a platform that invests in the next generation of leaders.

“Our economic future rests on leadership that listens, learns, and leads with purpose — ensuring that every reform delivers growth and opportunity,” he said.

Highlighting current initiatives, Edun cited digital cash transfers reaching 8.1 million Nigerians, with a goal of 15 million, and the Ward-Based Development Programme, which supports small businesses and community productivity across over 8,000 wards as examples of effective leadership turning policy into tangible results.

He stressed that the administration remains focused on macroeconomic stability, fiscal transparency, and inclusive development.

“With responsible leadership and continued reform, Nigeria is well positioned for sustainable growth that benefits citizens and strengthens private sector confidence,” he added.

Edun concluded by commending Oteh and the Oxford Global Think Tank for fostering dialogue essential to building a resilient and prosperous Nigeria.
